Stephanie Figgins, GW's Most Recent Marshall Scholar!

The Center for Undergraduate Fellowships and Research congratulates Stephanie Figgins on being named a 2013 Marshall Scholar!

Stephanie Figgins graduated from GW in 2011 with a BA in international affairs and economics, having spent her junior year in Cairo, Egypt as an NSEP Boren Scholar.  After graduating, Stephanie received a Critical Language Scholarship to study Arabic in Morocco.  Returning to Cairo, Stephanie began working as a journalist, covering Egyptian politics for Voice of America, and in that position, she also did reporting from Libya.  As a Marshall Scholar, Stephanie will live in London to pursue two, one-year degrees: an MA in Postcolonial Culture and Global Policy at Goldsmiths, University of London, and an MA in Near and Middle Eastern Studies at The School of Oriental and African Studies.
