Fulbright Brazil Program Expansion: Apply!

May 01, 2017
CUFR has exciting news for those interested in the Fulbright U.S. Student Program: Thanks to government funding, Brazil has expanded its 2017-2018 program to include 76 more English Teaching Assistant awards!

This Fulbright award application is open from Tuesday May 2 to Friday July 14, 2017 at 5 pm EST. The English Teaching Assistant positions will begin in February 2018 and end in November 2018.

To be eligible to apply, applicants must be a U.S. citizen and hold a bachelor's degree by July 14, 2017. Applicants must also be available for the full grant term of mid-Febuary to November 2018. Additional requirements include:
  • Applicants cannot be living in Brazil for more than 3 months in the 12 months leading up to the grant start date; exceptions can be made for language immersion program enrollment
  • Applicants should have intermediate proficiency in a Romance language (2 years of college level study)
  • Applicants are recommended to have experience working in an educational environment such as classroom teaching/tutoring
This is a great opportunity for students and alumni who applied for a Fulbright award in the fall of 2017 but were not offered the award. If this applies to you, you must create a new application account with Embark using a different email address and complete the full application with new essays and 2 new reference forms, in addition to a foreign language evaluation and your most recent transcript.

Good luck!
