A senior majoring in geography and political science at GW, Gavin Derleth has recently been featured in GW Today!  A recipient of a Luther Rice Undergraduate Research Fellowship, Gavin is spending his summer studying gentrification in Washington, D.C, and he hopes his research will ultimately help DC if not other cities plan for more equitable and socially sustainable futures.

Gavin began working on this project in spring 2019 under Elizabeth Chacko, Professor of Geography and the new Associate Provost, Special Programs & the Mount Vernon Academic Experience.
