Welcome to the Center for Undergraduate Fellowships & Research
GW created the Center for Undergraduate Fellowships & Research (CUFR) to provide GW undergraduates and alumni with information, guidance and support as they learn about and apply for research opportunities and national fellowship competitions. Learning about and applying for undergraduate fellowships and research awards can be a great complement to academic and extracurricular experiences at GW and can be a learning experience in its own right.

Research
Undergraduate research experiences offer students the chance to learn first-hand, in collaboration with professors, how new knowledge is generated. The Center actively provides information and advice to students who want to learn about GW and national opportunities to get involved in undergraduate research, by helping you identify resources, narrow your search, and shape your initial inquiries so you can find appropriate faculty mentors and research funding.
Find a Research Assistant
Faculty are encouraged to submit descriptions of available undergraduate research assistant positions. The Center for Undergraduate Fellowships and Research will post these positions within GWork and will provide application materials of students who apply through that system.
Fellowships
National fellowships are competitive awards that provide remarkable experiences and support for students interested in study abroad, graduate study, careers in public service, international affairs, teaching, scientific research, engineering, journalism and a host of other fields.
