Kiev Writing Prize

The annual Kiev Writing Prize recognizes exceptional work by an undergraduate student who uses The Gelman Library's I. Edward Kiev Judaica Collection substantially in preparation of a research paper. The prize, in the amount of $500.00 is funded by the Kiev Family Trust. The Prize is open to undergraduates from all colleges.

The first Kiev Writing Prize is annually awarded in the Fall for a paper completed the previous spring. The paper may be written as part of a course requirement or for another purpose. The papers will be judged by a panel of three, including the Kiev Collection Manager and two faculty members of George Washington University's Judaic Studies program. The winner will be notified by an official letter in the mail on or before September 1.
